WIT Intervarsites 2011

It was the turn of Waterford IT to host the 2011 National Intervarsity Equestrian Championships. Students from all over the country plus students from France, the UK, Belgium, Luxembourg and Canada descended on Raheen Na Gun Stud, Kilkenny for what was promised to be a hot competition. With over 130 showjumpers, 80 dressage riders and 70 novice riders. The event was kindly sponsored by the Equine Warehouse, Equestrian jewelry,Connollys redials, Cydonia, Redbull and the Clothes Horse. The show-jumping final was won by NUIM's Liz Dore and runner up was DIT's Shane Mulligan. The dressage final saw UCD vets peter Hannigan go head to head with Great Britains Alison Rountree, with Rountree emerging as the winner in the end.
